Scenic Hike & Beach Club Experience

Why Visit Honeymoon Beach, St John?

Honeymoon Beach has been a favorite of St. John travelers for years. This pristine, secluded beach can be reached via a short hike from the NPS Visitors Center or by shuttle from the Caneel Bay parking area.

Honeymoon Beach Amenities & Services

Honeymoon Beach offers more amenities than most remote beaches:

  • Restrooms & Showers: Flush toilets and outdoor showers are available to all visitors.

  • Beach Chairs & Club: The Caneel Bay Beach Club rents beach chairs and sells day packages. Umbrellas are not provided to protect turtle nesting sites.

  • Bars & Food: Two small bars serve cocktails and cold drinks; a deli offers sandwiches and snacks.

  • Hike or Shuttle: There is no direct vehicle access; visitors arrive on foot via the Lind Point trail or can park at Caneel Bay and take a paid shuttle to Honemoon Beach.

  • No Watersports Rentals: Kayaks and paddleboards were removed in 2022.

Hiking to Honeymoon Beach & Snorkeling

To get to Honeymoon Beach, hike about 1 mile on the Lind Point Trail from Cruz Bay. The trail is shaded and offers glimpses of the sea. Once you reach the beach, snorkel along both ends—sea turtles and colorful fish are common. The beach club sells reef‑safe sunscreen and snorkel rentals may be available in Cruz Bay.

Getting to Honeymoon Beach

Take a taxi to the Cruz Bay Visitor Center and follow signs to the Lind Point Trail, or charter a boat from Cruz Bay. The hike is moderately easy; wear sturdy shoes and carry water.

Tips for Visiting Honeymoon Beach

  • Reserve Chairs Online: Day passes for the beach club can sell out; book ahead if possible.

  • Bring Cash: Bars and chair rentals often require cash.

  • Use Mineral Sunscreen: Protect the reef and abide by local laws.

  • Enjoy the Hike: The trail offers great photo opportunities; leave extra time to enjoy the views.
