Activity Details

The Hike and Snorkel Brown Bay tour is a three hour guided outing that highlights one of St. John’s most interesting and varied trails. The hike begins with a short but steep climb through a dry landscape filled with cactus, agave, and open views. As the trail continues, the environment shifts into greener terrain with pockets of shade and tropical plants. Along the way, your guide points out historical sugar era ruins and shares stories about the people who once lived and worked in this area.

Once you reach the summit, you will get wide views over Brown Bay and the surrounding coastline. It is a great spot for photos and a chance to catch your breath before heading down to the shoreline.

At the water, you can snorkel in Brown Bay’s shallow, protected cove. This spot is known for healthy fringing reef, soft corals, gorgonians, and lots of small marine life. The bay is usually calm which makes it a good fit for beginners and families. Your guide will point out fish, coral, and anything interesting that passes by.

The tour ends with a short walk to a major historical ruin from the sugar era, giving you one more look at the island’s past before heading back. With only three quarters of a mile of hiking, this tour is manageable for most ages and combines land and sea in a fun, relaxed way.
