Because it’s reached by a long unpaved road, the bay is often uncrowded, making it a favorite among locals and adventurous visitors.

Despite its remoteness, Little Lameshur offers a few useful amenities:

  • Parking: A small lot near the beach (4WD recommended due to rough road).

  • Restroom: A restroom is available near the picnic area.

  • Picnic Tables & Grill: Several picnic tables and a grill allow visitors to enjoy a shaded lunch.

  • No Concessions: Bring food, water and snorkel gear; there are no vendors on site.

Snorkeling, Hiking & Activities at Little Lameshur

Little Lameshur’s calm bay offers outstanding snorkeling. Early mornings provide the clearest water and best chances to see coral reefs, sea grass and marine life such as parrotfish, angelfish and sea turtles. Hiking enthusiasts can explore the Lameshur Bay Trail, which connects to the Reef Bay Trail and passes historic plantation ruins and petroglyphs.


Getting to Little Lameshur Bay

From Cruz Bay, drive east on Centerline Road to Route 107 toward Coral Bay, then continue south past the Salt Pond Bay trailhead. Turn onto Lameshur Road, an unpaved track best navigated by 4WD. Follow it about a mile to the parking area. The beach is open daily between 8 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.

  • Use a 4WD Vehicle: The access road is rough and rocky.

  • Bring Supplies: There are no concessions; pack water, snacks and reef‑safe sunscreen.

  • Arrive Early: Snorkel before the sun gets high for best visibility.

  • Explore Trails: Bring hiking shoes to explore Lameshur Bay Trail and Reef Bay Trail.

  • Respect Nature: This remote area is pristine—pack out all trash.
