Secluded Beach with Pristine Snorkeling

Why Visit Salomon Bay Beach?

Salomon Bay (sometimes spelled “Solomon Bay”) is one of the most secluded beaches on St. John. When people search for “hidden beaches St John,” Salomon often appears at the top of the list. Its isolation - accessible only by hiking or boat - keeps crowds small and gives visitors a private‑island feel.

Salomon Bay Facilities & Amenities

Unlike more developed beaches, Salomon Bay has no amenities:

  • No Restrooms: There are no toilets or showers; the nearest facilities are at Honeymoon Beach.

  • No Parking: There is no dedicated parking lot. Limited street parking near the Lind Point trailhead provides access.

  • No Concessions: No bars, restaurants or equipment rentals; bring food, water and snorkel gear.

Hiking to Salomon Bay & Snorkeling

To reach Salomon Bay, hike the Lind Point Trail from Cruz Bay or the Caneel Spur off North Shore Road. The trail is about 0.8 mile and passes scenic overlooks and tropical vegetation. Once on the beach, snorkel around the rocky outcrops on the right side. Marine life is abundant, and visibility is excellent. Because there are no lifeguards, always swim with a buddy.

Getting to Salomon Bay Beach

Park in Cruz Bay or at the Caneel Spur trailhead, then follow signs to the Lind Point Trail. Wear sturdy shoes (flip‑flops are not recommended), and bring your beach gear in a backpack. You can also arrive by kayak or charter boat.

Tips for Visiting Salomon Bay St John
